Welcome statement
2025 Dixon Land and Livestock Steer Sale
Steers in the set represent a set of cattle we believe can be competitive in a variety of environments. While we hope many of them are successful along the way at jackpot shows, we are confident these cattle are built with their end point in mind and can make awesome fat steers if they manage to their potential. Many of these steers should look their best from July-September 2026. We attempt to highlight size/ideal endpoints for cattle that don’t perfectly fit a late summer/early fall show, and have included as much detail as possible about their attitude. At the same time, cattle are sold as is, without warranty. We highly recommend viewing the cattle in person prior to bidding if at all possible. Someone from our crew is available every day between now and October 4 to make that a reality at your convenience.
Maddy has spent the most time with these cattle, she is the best person to discuss their potential and disposition with. John, Andy, and Brett are each available to discuss the cattle and how they best fit your family’s needs as well. Steers sold for $5000 or more will be eligible for a free 12 month subscription to Progressive Stockmen’s Project Consultation Services at the buyers choice – for questions or details contact Brett Moriarty or visit www.ProgressiveStockmen.com.
4W Ranch have been loyal consignors and customers in many past sales – we appreciate Andy, Lori, Alyssa, and Landon Williams consigning three exceptional lots to this year’s event. A couple of which stem directly from purchases out of the Dixon Land and Livestock Holiday Heifer Sale purchases of years past, hosted each December here on SC.
All steers have had been routinely vaccinated with a strict protocol, please call if you have specific questions. Most steers have been weaned and on feed for about 75 days, but a couple late bloomers are noted. You can settle up through SC Online Sales or in person, but cattle must be paid for before being picked up. Cattle can be picked up beginning at 9 am on October 5, prior to our unhaltered pen steer sale. Steers not picked up by October 8th will be charged a fee of $10 per head/per day as long as they remain on site unless other arrangements are madethrough John/Maddy.
If shipping/hauling is required, we have haulers we have worked with previously that we can provide contact information for. DIXON LAND AND LIVESTOCK WILL PAY THE FIRST $500 FREIGHT FOR ANY CATTLE NEEDING TO BE SHIPPED – please contact John with any questions.
Thanks also to Tye and Alyssa Taylor with Sunrise Livestock Services for picturing and videoing services. As always, we must thank Benjamin Marquez and Sharon Hannas for all they do in helping maintain our cowherd and prepare the animals. We hope you like the cattle as much as our crew does!
Thank you for your time and consideration,
John, Laura, Maddy, Kendall, and Tyler Dixon
