Welcome statement

The IRHA mission is to preserve the integrity of all-breed ranch horse events while promoting the Western lifestyle and ranching heritage worldwide. IRHA strives to provide ranch competitions and educational opportunities to exhibitors across the globe while ensuring fairness, safety and enjoyment of the sport. Our events are open to exhibitors aboard all breeds.

The organization was founded in 2021 through a partnership with Daniel Patton and the American Paint Horse Association. IRHA is the worldwide governing body for the ranch horse competition, working in close partnership with other leading equine breed and event organizations.

Stallion Incentive Program

The IRHA Stallion Incentive Program rewards exhibitors, nominators and breeders of participating horses excelling in IRHA and Ranch Horse Triple Crown Challenge events. In 2024, more than $90,000 in stallion incentives was awarded at the IRHA Ranch Horse Futurity (Open/Non-Pro) and the Ranch Horse Triple Crown Challenge (Open/Non-Pro).

Participating IRHA Stallion Incentive Program sires represent some of the best bloodlines impacting the ranch horse industry.

How it Works

Stallion owners must participate in the stallion auction by donating one breeding for the year’s season. That makes all foals eligible to participate in stallion incentive payouts for that year’s incentive money-eligible events.

If the stallion’s breeding does not sell and the stallion owner wishes for the stallion to remain eligible, a payment of at least $500 or half of the last advertised stud fee, whichever is higher, must be paid.

CLOSING PROCEDURE

All standard bid sales on the SCO website use a horserace-style closing with extended bidding that begins at the scheduled close time. Extended bidding continues in preset increments (ranging from one to five minutes) until no bids are placed during the active clock, at which point the auction closes and lots are sold to the highest bidder. SCO and/or the Seller may adjust, extend, shorten, or end bidding at any time. The “Final Call” feature may be activated during extended bidding, removing the visible clock while still operating under extended bidding rules until bidding activity ceases and the auction closes.

Special Terms

It is the sole responsibility of the Buyer to contact the stallion owner, manager, or designated breeding facility prior to bidding to confirm semen availability and breeding method, including but not limited to whether the breeding is frozen semen or fresh/cooled semen.

The Buyer is also responsible for confirming all additional fees associated with the breeding, which may include but are not limited to: collection fees, chute fees, booking fees, shipment, storage, container fees, veterinary or facility charges, mare care, and any other costs required to fulfill the breeding. All fees are determined by the stallion owner, manager, or station and may change without notice.

The winning bid amount covers only the stallion service donated unless otherwise explicitly stated. Any additional fees are the responsibility of the Buyer and are payable directly to the stallion owner, manager, or breeding facility.

All bids placed in this auction are legally binding. Payment is due immediately at auction close. If payment arrangements are not made promptly, the winning bid amount will be charged to the credit card on file.

By placing a bid, the Buyer acknowledges acceptance of these terms and assumes full responsibility for all associated costs and arrangements.
